3.122 – some basic usability and bug fixes

the first iteration of autosave was a little quirky, and well, lets face it, downright annoying. I’ve played with it a little to make it a little less save happy and to not interfere when you’re using the autoplay and autoclose functions. it will also not come up if you open ubot by double clicking a .ubot file. I also wrapped the keyboard commands in a generic error handler to get rid of those nasty errors people were getting when pasting sometimes. Finally, I fixed a bug that was keeping itt from working correctly.

UBot Studio has had a period of explosive growth in last few months and we have more than 400 customers right now — and we are growing fast, gaining more UBotters every single day. With all this growth, there comes a responsibility to keep increasing the feature-set of software while making sure we provide top-notch support to the existing users. I have to say that we are very lucky to have an active UBotting Community on the forum that actively helps each other out. To all the active members on the forum for participating in the discussions — you know who you are and we really really appreciate it. UBot Studio would not be where it is not without the strong community behind it. However, there are a lot of support requests that customers don’t prefer to discuss in public. Until now the way was just to quickly shoot me an email and I would try to answer the email directly. Recently the number of emails that I have been getting are just pure overwhelming. As much as I love to help all of you, there are a lot of emails that can be answered a lot quicker by someone else on our technical team. While we would still prefer the forums to be first place where you ask the questions — as that documents the answer for other users — but if you still need to get in touch with me or someone from the technical team, we have now setup a ticketing system on http://support.ubotstudio.com When you submit a question through support system, we will have better control over making sure that your issue is addressed. This will make support a much cleaner and more organized process, and will ultimately let us serve your support needs more efficiently and effectively. Also, you don’t really need to create a separate account to create a ticket. Just go ahead and submit a ticket — that will work! I, Seth, will personally have my nose in the ticket system frequently, so this will fully replace my previous request of having you guys email me for support issues. 3.11009 – Image to Text, private proxies, ui changes

Big changes in this version. First, I’ve integrated Image to Text as an alternative captcha reader. you’ll see ITT chosen captcha and ITT reject captcha. Reject captcha will make itt refund your fee if the captcha was incorrect. More captcha readers will come soon. Private proxies are now usable in ubot. To use it, use change proxy as you normally would, and then follow it with the new “set proxy credentials”. Finally, I’ve made some pretty visible interface changes. Namely, I’ve made it so a box will appear around the node that is currently running. This should help a lot in debugging. Also, I’ve toned down the 3d effect of the nodes, which makes them much more readable. Node selection is now indicated with a dotted outline around the node. In the parameters window, I’ve condensed the basic text parameters to make them roughly half the size. As always, your feedback is appreciated! We really do listen to you guys, so keep telling us what you think of what’s there, and how we can keep improving! And last but not least, Merry Christmas everyone! -Seth

Thanks for Your Kind Words!

I was genuinely surprised and felt a warm fuzzy feeling when Alex (alcr @ UBot Studio Forums) linked me to this Appreciation Thread . Thanks for your kind words and thanks to all the members active on the forums and helping each other. In my short time here UBot has gone through some drastic changes and this software is well on its way to be absolutely badass. I just know one thing about running a business – if we don’t care about our customers and don’t keep focusing on our core objective (which is to keep developing and enhancing a kick-ass software that lets you automate your marketing), we are toast! If we ever get sidetracked from this, don’t forget to remind us. =) And thanks again for your kind words – it is very encouraging to get this pat on the back.

We are Botting For Charity! Are You?

It never fails to amaze me what all people use UBot Studio for! In this season for giving, I found out two of our members who are using UBot Studio for charity. The first one is Swagbucks bot by Lauren a.k.a Turbolapp. She describes it as – One of those was a Swagbucks bot that will help me rack up the bucks which you can then exchange for, well, swag. Now the trick with these bots is to make it look human enough so that your account doesn’t get shutdown. Unfortunately that means it takes a while to rack up the bucks. With my bot running a maybe a third of the day I usually end up with a few bucks. I guess if I was to keep at this for days and days I could maybe one day wind up with an xbox or wii….or I could just donate the swag points to charity. …. Sign up under that link and I promise to donate all of my referral swagbucks to the Holiday Toy drive swagbucks.com: Swag Store You can read her complete post on WickedFire Forums and download her “Charity Bot” right there. In the same thread, Nevele also posted another “Charity Bot” which helps feed kids — 1 in 4 chance to donate 10 grains of rice every 4 to 11 seconds. You can download his bot in the same thread. Have you developed a bot with UBot Studio for the greater good? Let us know and we will feature it on UBot Studio’s Official Blog.

3.11008 – New Command line Parameters, Run Node

In this update, you can now use these command line parameters: /play /auto Note that these are case sensitive, but they may be used anywhere in the command line. As always, you can just use the name of the file to automatically load a script on opening. /play will play the scipt as soon as it is loaded. /auto will play the script and then close ubot when it completes. You will also notice in your context menu for command nodes that you now have a “Run Node” option. This will simple run the single command you have selected. We have also implemented a few minor bug fixes. Additionally, there is a new license agreement. Please read this over and hit ok when you are prompted.

3.11005 – save chosen image, save browser image

Two new commands: save chosen image – save an image of the chosen element. if more than one element is chosen, it saves the first one. located under chosen commands. save browser image – saves an image of the current page to an image file. located under action commands.

3.11004 – Document Constants

We’ve added a new category of constants – Document Constants. This category includes 4 new constants – $url, $title, $meta description, and $meta keywords. We’ve also made a minor change so that you will not get the “Do you want to save” dialog if you have not made any changes right after opening.

UBot 3.11002 – Edit, shell

Two new great features. First of all, you can now edit a command once you have created it, by right clicking the command and clicking edit. This will open up a parameter window like the first one that appears when you create a new command, but it will have the information stored in the command. There is also a new command: shell. This will run an outside program, as though you were running it from the command line. This may help get rid of persistenet cookies, by allowing you to run programs such as ccleaner, but more testing is needed on this before we can call it universal.
